RSPH Level 3 Award in Supervising Food Safety in Catering
Who should attend this course?
This Level 3 qualification is designed principally for those who are, or intend to be, supervisors of food handlers within the catering and hospitality industry. Holders will gain a broad knowledge of food safety and food hygiene, enabling them to identify problem areas and recommend solutions.
Topics covered include;
- Legislation
- Principles of good food hygiene practice
- Implementation of food safety management procedures
- Role of the supervisor in staff training
Course delivery
The course is delivered in a classroom environment with group work and practical exercises. Workbooks are provided and candidates are encouraged to make additional notes.
Completion of the course is subject to a 90 minute test consisting of 45 multiple-choice questions at the end of the last day.

Successful candidates will receive a certificate from the Royal Society for Public Health.
