Who should attend this course?
This course is particularly suited to those in the care profession who need to lift and/or move people safely as part of their roles.
Topics covered include;
- Risk assessment
- Principles of handling people in a care environment
- Assisting mobility
- Assisting people in chairs
- Assisting people in bed
- The use of handling aids and hoists
Course delivery
The course includes practical exercises and demonstrations and requires an element of physical activity. Candidates are required to attend a 1 day annual refresher course to maintain competence.
Course duration
This course can be delivered over 2 or 3 days.
