This course is particularly suitable for those working in the childcare sector. The course can be tailored to your specific needs, based on the working environment and depth of knowledge and experience required for particular roles.

- Providing an understanding of local and national child protection frameworks
- Raising staff awareness of the possible signs and symptoms of child abuse
- Outlining the responsibility of staff in dealing with possible child abuse
- Clarifying the responsibilities of providers and managers in relation to child protection
- Where necessary, consider multi-agency aspects of child protection in childcare settings
Understanding Child Protection takes a comprehensive look at child protection issues, and aims to develop understanding of the national and local child protection expectations and requirements. Recognising Indicators explores staff responsibilities in respect of child protection; including understanding possible indicators and knowing what to do if they have suspicions or experience 'disclosure'. The course also considers the 'referral' process to other agencies and likely staff involvement throughout.
Course delivery
The course is developed and overseen by a team of training staff with a wide variety of experience. Candidates will be subject to continuous assessment by the trainer.
