Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
Who should attend this course?
This course is open to anyone wishing to further their skills in dealing with an emergency and covers the core competencies recommended by the Resuscitation Council UK guidelines on the operation of an AED.
Topics covered include;
- Familiarisation with the AED
- Operation of the AED
- Resuscitation (CPR)
Course delivery
The course is delivered in a classroom environment and requires an element of physical activity. Candidates will be subject to continuous assessment by the trainer.

A certificate is issued to successful candidates which is valid for 1 year.
